Round Table with Angus Deaton, 2015 Nobel Prize in Economics
On September the 8th, 2016, Angus Deaton, the 2015 Nobel Prize in Economics, took part in a round table at the College to mark the French release of his latest book The Great Escape.
Angus Deaton’s Great Escape charts and analyses 250 years that have seen spectacular growth for most of the world whilst disproportionately increasing inequalities. By analyzing in depth the key elements of nations’ prosperity and wealth, he enables a lucid assessment of our policies to help those left behind.
Born in Scotland, lecturer at Princeton University, Angus Deaton won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Economics “for his analysis of consumption, poverty, and welfare". After The Great Escape’s success in the USA, Deaton’s work is for the first time translated in French.
